How long does it take to complete the barbering program?

Our barbering program included 1,500 clock hours of instruction. How soon can I start the barbering program?

Our barbering program has rolling start dates throughout the year, giving you multiple opportunities to start your training. Spaces fill quickly because we try to maintain small class sizes, so don’t wait to start the process.

What is the difference between barbering and cosmetology?

While both barbering and cosmetology focus on hair and grooming, they are very different in their training and career paths. Barbering focuses on precision haircuts, fades, beard design, and straight razor shaves. These techniques are ideal for clients seeking sharp, tailored styles. Cosmetology offers a broader education that covers hair, skin care, and nail treatments. Barbers usually work in barbershops that cater to men’s grooming needs, while cosmetologists often work in salons that serve a broader client base. Do I need prior experience?

No. You do not need prior haircutting experience to enroll in our barbering program. You might be completely new to barbering or have some experience. Either way, our program can teach you the skills you need to know. Our instructors will guide you through techniques such as clipper cutting, scissor work, and straight razor shaves. With practice and consistent effort, you can thrive in the barber industry. 

How to Enroll in Our Barber Program

Starting enrollment is a straightforward process. Here’s what you’ll need to do:

  • Provide proof of education. Submit proof you graduated high school, have a GED certificate, or equivalent education.
  • Complete an application. You can complete the application online or in person with our admissions team.
  • Pay the enrollment fee. A $250 non-refundable enrollment fee is required to secure your spot in the program.
  • Schedule a tour. Visit our facility to meet some instructors, explore our barbering client floor, and ask questions about the program.
